    Club Demonstration Services is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to undertake domestic and international purchasing activities including ordering and distribution logistics of products, equipment and supplies to field operations.  The procurement Specialist will analyze changes or new issues with materials and supplies and identify ways to reduce cost and improve quality.   This role will also maintain specifications for event supplies, event equipment and other events like grand openings.

    • Oversee inventory shipping to over 500 locations nationally; this includes replenishment, distribution and logistics.
    • Place purchase orders and follow through procurement process making sure timely deliveries.
    • Place orders for all the supplies and equipment needed for grand openings.
    • Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors and service providers.
    • Works with suppliers making sure all orders arrive on schedule.
    • Identifies new cost reduction opportunities
    • Implements creative procurement and sourcing strategies aligned with company strategic business plan and growth.
    • Identifies new cost reduction opportunities
    • Research new innovate products and commodities in the market for business operation improvement purpose.
    • Conducts testing of new equipment making sure selection will work for our program.
    • Analyze supply spend for event equipment, event supplies and other categories.
    • Review monthly reports. Identify exceptions for example, non-approved spend items, pricing discrepancies, minimum order charges, emergency order fees.
    • Ensures all projects follow procurement policies and processes
    • Analyze changes or new issues in materials and supplies and finds ways to reduce costs while improving quality
    • Attend weekly vendor meetings making sure all projects are on track
    • Create and maintain specifications for Event Supplies and Event Equipment including maintaining catalog library up to date.



    • Must have three to five years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, negotiations, supply management, and process improvements preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree – Business, Supply Chain, Operations or Arts degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Exposure to a network environment using a Windows and/or Windows like interface, proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Access

    Position Summary


    The Specialist Strategic Sourcing is responsible for the overall management of approximately $17 million in strategic sourcing/procurement/purchasing spend areas including hotels, airfare, small package, freight, office supplies and other such categories.  Responsible for interacting with all levels of the company’s organizational structure; including retail, sales, finance, accounting, payroll, and human resource personnel in managing the company’s internal expenses. Partners with outside vendors and oversees the work of third party outsourced personnel to ensure all necessary duties are completed.


    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities


    Cost Management

    • Spearhead sourcing new spend categories as appropriate, including identifying categories to source, identifying alternate suppliers, and negotiating new agreements.
    • Review strategic sourcing reports and invoices to identify, propose, implement and communicate opportunities for cost savings, operational efficiencies, and policy changes across several expense categories.
    • Actively manage the budget for all spend categories of responsibility and work with company leadership to affect necessary changes.

    Contract Management and Negotiation

    • Manage the contracts, vendor relationships, internal operations, policies, communications and reporting for several expense categories (approximately $17 million). 
    • Solicit proposals and re-negotiate existing contracts upon contract expiration.  Assist with and lead integrating future Company acquisitions to purchasing programs and processes.
    • Facilitate feedback from divisional leaders regarding vendor performance and develop and implement action plans to improve service and cost.

    Lead Responsibilities

    • Review and check the work of the Strategic Sourcing Specialist.  Provide guidance on a daily basis.

    Minimum Qualifications


    Education Level: (Required)  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience


    Field of Study/Area of Experience:  

    • 5+ years of experience in related field
    • 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience

Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
